The Mazzitelli Studio was founded in 1991 following a passionate and
personal search for antique and vintage furniture and objects based on the
conviction that the things which surround us reflect our internal world
which is always varied and subject to diverse experiences.
Riccardo Mazzitelli has travelled throughout Europe and North America in
search of just such pieces. The period choice is the period between the two
world wars, a tragic time in our history which, nevertheless, saw an
enormous revival in applied art. This does not detract in any way from
the tastes of the generation which followed the Viennese Secession which
fore-ran the succeeding period of the 1800s and the 1900s.
We have included with equal freedom designs from the 50s which were all
characterised by the desire to elevate function over form. The original
idea of bringing together period pieces categorised according to their
provenance creates a warm and comfortable whole which does not at all make
you feel that you are in a museum.
